LaunchReel for Claude Code

Say “cut this recording into a reel” or “make a launch video for this app” in Claude Code. For a talking-head video, Claude transcribes your footage, cuts the fillers, pauses and retakes, adds captions and zooms, and drops in visuals where they help. For a launch video, it reads the repo, inspects the running product, plans the film and writes every scene as code. Then a local Studio opens where you watch it build, drag the timeline, edit text on the frame and pin comments that Claude fixes.

Install

Paste and run one at a time.

Needs Node 20+. The first render downloads a headless Chrome once. With a key: claude mcp add launchreel -e LAUNCHREEL_KEY=… -- npx -y launchreel-mcp, or paste the key in the Studio. Without one you get the free trial video.

Use

The Studio opens at localhost:4747: a timeline (drag a clip's edge to retime — it snaps to spoken words and to the beat — drag to reorder), an inspector for every word on screen, ⌘Z, Export at 1080p (2K and 4K on Pro).
Comments: press C, click the frame, type. Say “watch my comments” once and Claude picks up each new one, fixes it, and replies in the thread.
Edit on the frame: double-click any text in the player.

What Claude does

Plans one story sentence, one small brand element carried across every cut, and a storyboard on a 0.5 s pulse — the craft rules come from a shot-by-shot study of 59 real launch films.
Writes each scene as a Remotion component with our motion kit: camera moves, parallax depth, light, texture, morph carriers, settling type, hits and risers.
Looks at the motion, not just stills: flipbook strips per scene, a contact sheet of the film, and measured checks for dead frames, metronome motion and cuts without a carrier.
Records narration in LaunchReel's voices and cuts the scenes on the words (with an access code).
