launchreel turns what you tell it about your product into a launch video. We built it to need as little of your data as possible: there are no passwords, no cookies, no ad trackers or third-party analytics, and your finished video is made on your own device and never uploaded to us. The Claude Code plugin uses a licence key instead of an account; what that involves is below.
What stays in your browser
- Your answers (product name, website, audience, what it does, numbers, your script) are saved in your browser's local storage so you can come back to them.
- Your invite code and, if you add one, your own Gemini API key are stored there too. We never save your key on our servers.
- The video itself is rendered on your device and downloaded straight to it.
Clearing your browser's site data removes all of it.
Counting visits
To see which pages and buttons people use, this site records each page view and a few clicks (copying an install command, choosing a plan) on our own server: the page, the site you came from, your country, whether it was a phone or a computer, and a one-way code made from your IP address and browser that changes every day. It sets no cookies, can't follow you from one day to the next, and isn't shared with anyone.
What we send to make your video, and to whom
| What | Sent to | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your answers or script | Our server, then the AI model provider: Google's Gemini API (or OpenRouter, if configured) | To write the script and choose the scenes |
| The narration text | Cloudflare Workers AI (Deepgram Aura and Whisper models) | To speak it and time each word |
| A voiceover you upload | Cloudflare Workers AI (Whisper) | To time your recording against your script |
We don't store any of this on our side: each request is processed and the result is sent back to your browser. Our server runs on Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived operational logs (such as request times, status codes and IP addresses) to run and protect the service.
Gemini's free tier: when a video is made on Google's free Gemini API tier (ours, or yours through your own key), Google says it may use that content to improve its products. Don't put anything confidential into launchreel. Paid API keys follow Google's paid-tier terms instead.
The Claude Code plugin
The plugin and its Studio run on your computer: your code, your scenes and your videos stay there. To run your plan and some features, it talks to our server:
| What we keep | Why |
|---|---|
| Your licence key (only a one-way hash of it), its plan and status, and the email you bought it with | To know which plan you're on and to help you if you lose your key |
| Without a key: a random install ID, the name of your trial video and your IP address | The free trial covers one video, and a few per network per day |
| How many videos you started this month (the names of those projects), how many narrations, scores and transcription minutes you used, and which computers (a random install ID each) use your key | Your plan's monthly limits, and how many computers a key works on |
We don't keep anything else. Narration text and the audio of a recording you edit (only its sound, never the video) are sent to Cloudflare Workers AI to speak or transcribe them, and the result comes straight back; neither is stored. Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record: we never see your card details, and Dodo processes your billing information under its own privacy policy.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your information.
- We don't use your content to train models of our own.
- We don't build profiles of you or track you across sites.
Music, sounds and uploads
Music and sound effects you pick are served from our site. Music or voiceovers you upload stay in your browser; an uploaded voiceover is only sent for timing as described above.
Children
launchreel is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly process their information.
Your choices
You can use launchreel without narration, write your own script, and clear everything we keep in your browser at any time. Because we don't keep your content on our servers, there is nothing of yours for us to export or delete there.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. Questions, or want your key's record deleted? email privacy@firstfoot.dev, or reach us through firstfoot.dev.
